Formerly active Soapstone quarries, Frederick Oesch acquired the property in June 1997, and is in the process of reclaiming and transforming the abandoned wasteland into a private residence, gardens and parkland. The model project is a living testament to the potential of post-industrial wasteland to rapidly "heal itself", given the appropriate and caring stewardship of mankind.
