"How much more does it cost?"
This is the most common question regarding the use of alternative energy, building materials, and construction systems. It is the fundimental premise, and responsibility assumed by O.E.D., that ecologically responsive design and building, is not inherantly more costly than conventional construction. In fact, there are cases where alternative approaches can actually cost less. This is especially true, when considering the operating, maintenance, and life-cycle cost of the building. Ecologically responsible design is simply wise investment.

"How much are Architectural Design fees?"
Like any competant accounting or legal service, professional architectural service should at least pay for itself. This results from optimized project coordination, construction efficiency, and appropriate structural and material selections. Design and project administration services are also wise investmentsts, from which the client should realize a monitary gain. O.E.D. is pleased to accomodate every client's prefered basis for compensation, whether by an hourly rate, percentage of construction cost, or fixed fee. Initial consultations are free.
